1st Live Twitter Chat by LHS Student Help Desk Students

On December 2, 2014, schools from Massachusetts to Maine with student-run IT help desk programs participated in a live Twitter chat. The topics of discussion included basic uses of technology, integration of specific technologies in schools, and reasons why schools are using their students’ knowledge to form a “geek squad”.  These “geek squads” were created to help support and integrate technology in the schools. This collaboration with other students and teachers helps LHS help desk students get a better idea of the issues and successes of similar programs. It also helps us solve issues that we were having trouble solving ourselves. The help desk students discussed the best ways to handle a client, what applications worked best for them, and how they used their given technology to improve education. This was the first live discussion that the LHS help desk participated in. The LHS student help desk will participate in these monthly Twitter discussions.
