Canva by Zack Glowik

Canva is a beta website that makes graphic design easy and accessible. The site gives you access to a number of templates that you can build off of to create appealing pictures for a number of different uses. Canva makes it easy to create professional looking graphics for people who might not have the knowledge or skill to do so with a program like Photoshop.

The website gives a variety of text, images, and backgrounds to choose from, however they have made it so that better backgrounds and images cost money to use. Unfortunately, the number of items that cost money seem to outnumber those that do not. Controlling images and text while making a project is a bit difficult because of the program being web-based, and not something that you download. There is quite a bit of latency between the action you input and the result being displayed.
Although the project is still in beta, it seems like there is a lot of potential for Canva. Its ease of use along with its eye-pleasing aesthetics make for good looking graphics. Right now, the site is in semi-closed beta, with members able to invite up to five people, who can in turn invite five people each. Their website is www.canva.com, and with the holidays coming up, it is also a great way to make digital holiday cards for friends and family.
