Google Play is Google’s way of competing with Apple’s iTunes. Play has taken everything that iTunes can do and made it better. If you have a Gmail account, you can set up your Play account simply by putting in a credit card. The best part is that you only need to download one app.
Google Play is completely centered around Google’s cloud storage. You simply click buy and the song is sent to your cloud, free for you to stream from any one of your Android devices as well as your computer. You can get free songs, buy whole albums, and can even get books, magazines, and movies. The cloud storage makes it much easier for people to work with, as they only need to download the Google Play app. There is no syncing devices, no wires, everything is in the cloud.
Google Play is not as well known as iTunes, however it makes it much easier to bring your music, books, and TV shows on the go.
If you want to compare and contrast iTunes and Google Play, see Max Cohee’s post on this same blog.

Google Play Music is much better than Apple iTunes because itunes need to have sync cables and an Apple ID and its a pain. Google Play Music is cheaper and better.
This is particularly interesting for the faculty, staff & students at Lynnfield High School, as we all have Google accounts.
